Mexico City Church: Las islas…

We visited our old home, the kids’ first school, and other places. Perhaps none of those was more significant to the Mexico City mission than “Las islas”. Mexico City: Strategic Decisions

Mission Diaries Logo small white.jpgThe second scouting trip of Mexico City happened in the Spring of 1987. The mission team had been selected and expected to arrive in Mexico City by July of that year. Three of us went to research aspects like housing, schooling for the kids, and language internships for the non-Spanish speaking missionaries. I went to interview for a position at the CINVESTAV (Center for Research and Advanced Studies). We also toured the city to grasp a clearer vision of what our strategy should be. Belize: Hurricane Season

The start of the 2007 Hurricane Season brought the immediate threat of two category 5 hurricanes to Belize. In the space of two weeks, Belize was staring down Dean and Felix, both of whom were on direct collision courses with Belize City the country’s largest urban area. Mexico City: The Preparations…

Mission Diaries Logo small white.jpgI wish that one could say that to plant a succesful mission church one just steps out on faith, goes to another country and great things start happening. However the Bible says “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty” (Prov. 21:5 NIV) A lot of preparation went into the planting of the Mexico City Church. The mission team actually arrived in Mexico several months before the official starting date of the church. We needed to get trained and ready…
