Ready for the New Year?

Mission Diaries Logo small white.jpgAt this time of year, most media focus on two subjects: The (previous) Year in Review and Advice for the New Year. If you want our view of how to prepare for the new year, we recommend you read our article Intention and Renovation in our Feature Article tab. It’s from last year, but its message is always relevant. For a review of 2008′s top stories, well, there are many sources but one in particular might be of interest to our readers. Disciples Today has a veritable cornucopia of videos, articles and links about the International Churches of Christ, as well as links to many other web pages. Some of the articles are only available to subscribers, but the subscription fee is totally worth the price.

Wishing you the best of God’s blessings in 2009, on behalf of everybody here at Mexico and Central America Missions

More Church Anniversaries and a Special Family

Mission Diaries Logo small white.jpgIt’s a month of anniversaries! Last week we reported about the anniversary of the Panama City Church. This past weekend, two churches in Mexico celebrated their anniversaries: Mexicali and Aguascalientes. Please read on to find out about an interesting link between the two churches… (Read the article)

Panama City Church Celebrates Tenth Anniversary

Mission Diaries Logo small white.jpgWith around 100 members and about 575 guests in attendance, the Panama City Church of Christ celebrated its tenth anniversary service this past November 9. The event was titled Panama: Light to The Nations. Since early that day, many people could be seen lining up to enter the Convention Center. The celebration included a theatrical presentation put together by members of the church who had started a small theatrical arts ministry since early this year. Church members were also treated to a retrospective of the church’s ten years. You can watch it by clicking this link.

Cardona Family

The guest speakers were Hector and Wendy Cardona (photo above) who planted the Panama church in 1998. They were joined by their daughters, two of whom were preschoolers when they first came to Panama, and now are young teens in the San Pedro Sula (Honduras) Church.

The church’s community work through HOPE worldwide was also highlighted in a video that you can watch by clicking this link.

Please pray for a great spiritual harvest in Panama, and for the local ministry leaders, Horacio and Irma del Castillo. As the Panamanians say in exclamation: Owe!
