Building the House

Mission Diaries Logo small white.jpgThe church in Aguascalientes, Mexico, usually spends the last weekend of each month performing community services. Typically the church members go out and distribute food and clothing to needy families, or they bring meals and entertainment to people in hospitals, or they do parties and bring toys for children in poor communities. However, this past December the church took on a new challenge…

The church’s community projects leader had found out about a family that was living in a house made of scrap plastic and wood and other materials basically scavenged from the garbage dump site. And so, with materials donated by others or purchased by the church, the disciples decided to go and give this family a special Christmas gift: a new house.

Please click on the image below to go to YouTube and see a video of how the church, with their own labor, transformed the hut in the picture to a new house for this family.
